Purpose of the Article

The purpose of the article “Dieting and the Development of Eating Disorders in Obese Women: Results of a Randomized Controlled Trial” (2004) is to examine the issue of possible correspondence between dieting and binge eating as well as various mood swings in persons who did not have these complications before treatment.

The recent results provided by the Diabetes Prevention Program showed that advantages for health which result from the correct loss of weight and increase in physical activity are convincing (Wadden et al. 567).
